Hello on Friday Morning

Dear Friends,

2010 has finally arrived. I hope that it will be a great one for all of my readers even though some of you are experiencing some physicals problems, or have aging parents who need our love and support more than ever.

The small party at the Curley’s went very well. The last guests left around 1:15 AM. By the time Linda and I did a cursory cleanup, and loaded up the dishwasher, the clock struck 2 AM. We will both need a day or so to recover. The food, fun, and merriment kept everyone awake so that we could sip some champagne at midnight. Every couple brought a couple of appetizers, and they were all different from one another. Some game playing did take place to help the partiers stay awake. Essentially a good time was had by all.

Our Kansas son is inundated with snow. He has already sent pictures of a home made snow man which appears to be almost 6 feet tall. Mike and Isabelle used a snowman kit that Kyla and Kevin game them for Christmas, and it worked as stated on the package. I did try to make a smaller version of a snow man for Isabelle when she was here. The wind and Billy the dog knocked him over. Billy treated the snowman as a toy.

The social calendar is lean for us today. I will be content to watch college football all day long as a warm up for the professional football games on Sunday.

At some point today, I have to help Kyla pack up her car with baby stuff, the dogs, and eventually Max because they are heading back home to East Boston today. I am not sure that I will be looking forward to having no grandchild in the house for a while. As we age, having peace and quiet is something that us mature people look forward to, but on the other hand, it has been a wonderful experience, and I hope that it can happen again soon.

Let us all hope that the President fulfills some of his campaign promises. Let us hope that the price of oil drops which it didn’t do yesterday. Let us hope that the Congress irons out the health care issues. Let us hope for a more peaceful world during 2010. A positive attitude is good for the health of the nation as well as for us individuals.

Remember that family and friends are what makes the world go round.

Have a great day!

If you have the day and weekend off, enjoy every moment because it is back to the grind on Monday for working people.

For me, I will be on some frozen pond enjoying mother nature, and trying to catch a fish through the ice. I will even take a book just in case the fish aren’t biting.

Talk to you soon. The Curley Lad
