Hello on Friday

Dear Friends,

Another day in Curleyworld went as planned, and I never left the house.
Linda did leave for a body maintenance procedure, pick some pictures which she processed the day before at the local CVS, and eventually went off to her BONCO picnic. I did do some outside chores one of which was to clean the white fence which the neighbor put up a few years ago because she has a pool in her back yard. The white fence (plastic) now looks like it is brand new.
The fence had all kinds of grass from me cutting the lawn and weed whacking.

Speaking of pictures, good thing that I married a person like Linda who is willing to transfer pictures from the computer, to a flash drive, and bring the flash drives to CVS, and spend countless hours selecting, and getting rid of redeye, cropping the pictures which she chooses to have prints made.
So many friends have pictures of their family, children, grandchildren, but you have to go on their computer, or their I Phone or Facebook to view the pictures. Linda stopped over to visit us partying at the neighbors home before she headed off to BONCO. She whipped out her newest Grandmother pictures, and showed the guests at the party. Some guests wanted to hire Linda to process their family pictures too.

The Stock Market dropped like a rock on Thursday. People starting selling massive shares of their stock portfolios, and the Market reacted. Some of those people who were hoping that their 401 K's would be doing well enough so that they could retire this year, have to rethink when they will retire.
We teachers or State and Municipal workers are so fortunate to have those Defined Benefit Pensions. Our monthly pension checks come in no matter what the Stock Market does.

Congress finally passed legislation to get most of the FAA workers back to doing their jobs so that they can pay their bills. The major stumbling black was that the Republicans didn't want the workers to have the ability to Unionize. The Republicans are still thinking that President Reagan is in office when he busted the Air Traffic controllers Union by firing all the employees. When stuff like this happens, I just become more of a diehard Liberal Democrat. I could almost never consider voting for a Republican unless the Republican showed a few Democratic ideals / leanings.

The dinner party last night at a neighbor's house was wonderful. The host could quit his job at General Dynamics, and just be a chef at his own restaurant. His wife would be the dessert maker which she excels at. The party was actually a farewell party for a couple who is on the road to Atlanta right now. His son and his wife will be having their second child in Atlanta any day now. These friends should be in Atlanta for a month or two before returning to the Berkshires. Atlanta is like many of those States flirting with the 100 degree mark along with the humidity.

Sports -- The Red Sox and the Yankees are now tied for first place in their division. The Yankees will be at Fenway this evening. I will be watching the game at our son's house in Tewksbury. Remember that "Good pitching could stop good hitting". The Yankees have been hitting the cover off of the ball during their 7 game winning streak. We Red Sox fans are hoping that the bats of the Red Sox come alive during this series.

Well, the Curley's are on the move again. We are off to our grandson Max's birthday party bash this weekend in Tewksbury. The party is on Saturday even though his actual birthday is the next day. There should be a little over 30 kids and adults who will be at the party. Linda and I will do our usual food preparation help. I have to practice to refrain from my anal retentive habit of trying to take over running the show, party, and function. Sometimes, I get carried away with the details so much, I end up calling the shots. This is why I have sore shins from Linda kicking me a lot under a table when I start going over the edge.

Have a great weekend!
There are a ton of things which we will be missing in the Berkshires this weekend including the Ethnic Fair, partying with our Sister City guests, etc., but I always tell people that Family takes precedent over everything else.
Well, I have to start loading up the car with things like our canopy, extra coolers, etc., presents for the birthday boy which we are not supposed to give him according to the Evite. Aren't grandparents supposed to spoil their grandchildren rotten? It is part of the joy of being grandparents.

Talk to you from Tewksbury on Saturday if I have a chance to do so.

The Curley Lad
