Hello on Tuesday Morning

Dear Friends,

It was a quiet day in the Curley household. I did chores around the house while Linda tried to relax before her afternoon golf.
My last UNICO board meeting went well. In 45 minutes, we took care of business.

Today is another full day for both of us. My first task this morning will be to take a friend to and from a colonoscopy appointment. While waiting for the completion of the colonoscopy, I have to make a stop at City Hall to make some food changes with respect to what UNICO is cooking at the August 2, 2009 Ethnic Fair.
Linda has a mid morning hair appointment, and then she will be setting up our house for her usual Tuesday Mah Jongg session. I will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgs for the ladies rain or shine. Rain and cool weather is predicted for today. Linda really wanted to have the session in the screened in room on the deck. The weather forecast will not let this happen.

This evening, we are heading off to an Irish Sister City Meeting at 6 PM.
There is another meeting at 7 PM (Italian Heritage), but we will probably be too exhausted to attend.
The Red Sox and Yankees are supposed to do battle this evening in Boston, but the rain forecast most likely will not let this happen.

Politics -- The Supreme court nominee is on crutches. She broke an ankle after stumbling in an airport. Sympathy vote!
The Republican are trying to come up with a platform and a candidate so that they can make a concerted effort to unseat the President in four years. They are struggling to find any agreement of how to do so. Sarah Palin, and Colin Powell don't seem to be the best choices to represent the Republican Party so far.

Observation -- I had to go off to Home Depot yesterday. When I tried to make a left hand turn to go into the shopping complex, a senior citizen was exiting at the same time. She was in a lane that I was trying to enter. Visualize two lanes going into the complex, and two lanes to exit the complex, separated by an island. Is this type of driving on the horizon for me as I get older?

Have a great Tuesday.
Talk to you soon. The Curley Lad
