Hello on Monday Evening from Kansas

Dear Friends,

I am little behind on my daily blogs since a good deal has happened since Sunday Morning.
We did depart at noon from East Boston on Sunday as planned. The expected traffic didn't materialize which means we sat in the airport for a good amount of time. As luck would have it, we happened to give up out seats for the Sunday evening flight. We were given $400 vouchers per person, an overnight stay at the Airport Ramada, and food vouchers for supper and breakfast. It was all by accident since Linda went to the desk asking for better seats, and the person at the counter said that they were overbooked by 8 people.
We left Hartford at at 7:10 AM this morning, and were picked up by our son at 12:30 PM central time zone. We had a quick sandwich, and I went down for a nap when Isabelle did around 2 PM. Linda had to wake me up at 5 PM because some neighbors were coming over for Isabelle's first year old birthday celebration.
While at the airport this morning, Mike Ditka was in the waiting area for the the flight to Atlanta which was the first leg of our journey. Just about the time I was going over to speak with him, he received a telephone call from "Mike & Mike" in the morning. "Mike & Mike", for you non sports enthusiasts, is an ESPN radio / television program aired from 6 AM until 10 AM. Mike Dita did the guest talk show right there in the airport on his cell phone. Of course Mike Ditka sat in first class as we were flying economy class.
Isabelle's first birthday party went well. The neighbor and his family came over for supper. My son grilled some burgers, and a couple of bratwurst. I felt like I was tailgating at a Patriot Game.
Just about birthday cake time , Danielle called her parents so that they could witness the event over the internet. Isabelle had fun squishing her cupcake. Isabelle broke out in a mild rash which we think was caused by the various dyes in the frosting. The rash subsided by bedtime.
Speaking of the Patriots, they are the best 11 and 5 team who didn't make the NFL playoffs. This hasn't happened since 1985 when the Denver Broncos failed to make the playoffs with the same 11 and 5 record.

Dear old Mom continues to do well in her newly fitted back brace. She is still in the hospital waiting for the stent to be put in either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Well, I have to watch a little sports.
Talk to you soon. The Curley Lad
