Hello on Wednesday Morning

Dear Friends,

The Curley Christmas Party / Open House / Birthday Celebration went very well. Linda went to bed exhausted. She took care of every detail from when she woke up until she went to bed. She did everything that a caterer would do, and went above and beyond the call of duty.
There were very few leftovers, which is very good. I talked her into creating a vegetable platter which was the only item that people had no desire to eat. I feel a crock pot vegetable soup being prepared right after Christmas.

The birthday portion of the party also went well. The females always like it when you Ooh and Ah over all the presents ( birthday) as you open them up. I wasn't lucky scratching a bunch of lottery tickets which was one of the gifts. I love my new Patriot Fleece Blanket. A did receive a whole bunch of gift sets of an alcoholic nature. There appeared to be a consistent theme with several of the gifts.

Since the party started at 5 PM, people were heading out the door around 9 PM. I didn't last too long with the clean up before I called it a night.

I hope that Linda sleeps as long as she needs to because she has to act like a cater once again for the seniors on Christmas day.

I couldn't believe that the couple who thought that the party was on Sunday didn't show up for the party last evening. I will have to find out what happened.

Social Calendar -- We have another full day on our social calendar today. We are taking care of the elementary school aged girl next door while their parents go off to work. I am going to make her pancakes for breakfast with some bacon on the side. Our two boys used to love this breakfast. Dipping the bacon in the maple syrup is a must do thing! Her dad will be picking her up at noon. Anyone receiving this e-mail is welcomed to join us for breakfast.

Sports -- The Yankees spent another $180 million for another baseball player who the Red Sox were courting. Yankee management is well on their way to purchasing a World Series. The Red Sox do have deep pockets too, but the Yankees have the deepest in all of baseball. Time will tell if this style of management will work.

Politics -- Obama looks like he is having fun vacationing in Hawaii. He better enjoy every moment because he won't have time for a vacation for a very long time once he enters the White House.
It looks like another Kennedy will be enter the world of politics. Besides not being too qualified, the Republicans are looking for anything to find fault with her.

Social Calendar Continued -- No, our day doesn't end at noon. We have three Christmas Eve house parties to attend this evening. We might only make it to two of them. I will have to employ the Eat to Live method instead of the Live to Eat one. This is so difficult because each house party has something different that just has to be eaten.

Well, I have to empty the dishwasher, and put away some of the remnants from the party.

Have a great Christmas Eve.
Talk to you soon. The Curley Lad
